Our Services

How we can help

We provide practical help, education, and advocacy for wāhine, tamariki and whānau affected by family violence.

Every journey looks different, so we adapt our support to what you need, whether that’s a safe place tonight, someone to walk alongside you long term, or just a conversation about what’s next.

Our advocates are trained, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life.

We won’t tell you what to do.

We’ll help you make informed choices and find the tools to act on them.

Advocacy & Community Support

We can help you navigate the systems that often feel confusing or overwhelming, things like legal processes, WINZ, housing, schools, and health services.

Our advocates walk beside you through each step, helping remove barriers so you can focus on safety and healing.

We can:

  • Work with Police, Oranga Tamariki, or other agencies on your behalf.

  • Help you apply for benefits and housing support.

  • Provide information about protection and parenting orders.

  • Offer referrals to counsellors, community services, and health professionals.

We’ll work at your pace, not ours.

Safe Housing & Transitional Homes

If you or your children are unable to stay where you are, we can arrange safe accommodation through our refuge networks.

.
These are secure, confidential spaces where you can rest, make plans, and begin to rebuild confidence.

Our housing support can include:

  • Immediate safe housing for wāhine and tamariki.

  • Transitional housing while you find long-term stability.

  • Support with moving, benefits, and practical logistics.

You don’t have to face this alone, we’ll help you get there safely.

Children & Tamariki Advocacy

Violence affects children in different ways, even when they aren’t directly harmed.
Our tamariki advocates work with children and young people to help them process what’s happened and feel safe again.

We provide:

  • Emotional support for tamariki who have witnessed violence.

  • Guidance for parents to help children manage fear and trauma.

  • Access to programmes that rebuild confidence and trust.

Personal Safety & Security

We offer safety devices and home security upgrades for women at high risk of repeat harm.
This might include monitored alarms, personal safety watches, or other tools that make it easier to live safely at home.

Mobility & Accessability

Our offices are fully wheelchair accessible, and our advocates are mobile, if you can’t come to us, we can come to you.

We cover communities across Waitomo and Waipā, from Mōkau to Cambridge, including Te Kūiti, Benneydale, Kāwhia, and Te Awamutu.
